| The idea of treating alcoholism as something other than simple detoxification is a new idea in Romania. So is the idea of group therapy, and peer counseling. At the policlinica St. Pantelimon we have group counseling sessions twice weekly, and a weekly aftercare group. Here patients learn about the disease model of alcoholism and addiction, and also become introduced to 12 Step recovery groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon Family Groups. |
